• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements;
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
• Set up components for welding according to specification (E.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
• Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper;
• Mig Weld – aluminum and steel components based on specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings;
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces;
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead);
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures ensuing quality standards are met;
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards;
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on given task ;
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs

Health and safety;

• Work SMART and work SAFE – follow all company policies and procedures;
• Must wear the proper PPE as per company policy;
• Housekeeping – ensure proper storage of all tools area is kept clean and tidy; no slip trip or fall hazards are present, and all materials are stored in a proper container/cabinet;
• Ensure that the equipment is in proper working order, if applicable conduct pre and post work inspections on tools/equipment

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
• Able to take direction both oral and written;
• Highly organized, well planned, productive, self-directed individual who requires minimal supervision, and is able to meet tight production timelines;

Qualifications;

• CWB certification is preferred with a 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
• Experience with steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel required;
• Experience with MIG welding highly preferred
• Knowledge of machine and tools, including their designs and uses;
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
• Ability to perform intermediate math, convert decimals to factional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents;
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time;
• Exposure to or have worked in an environment where Lean/Six Sigma principals were practiced

Working Environment;
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside heat.cold, humid, and dry.arid conditions. Must use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, noise and odours. This position may include lifting up to 50lbs at times. Stand long periods of time, bend, twist, and reach (overhead, waist level) from floor. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

Location: Concord – Langstaff and Jane – not bus accessible
Shift: 6am-2pm

Educational/Experience Requirements
Post-secondary education preferred

Must have a valid forklift license with a minimum of 3-5 years experience operating a counter balance lift truck.

• Sprays surfaces of manufactured products, or working area with protective material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, and using spray gun;
• Inspects surface conditions prior to painting, ensuring there are no defects and the products is clean and ready for painting;
• Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, turpentine, soap and eater;
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas that not to be coated;
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired colour, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer;
• Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose, using wrenches;
• Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting technique;
• Pulls trigger and direct spray onto work surface to apply prim or finish coat;
• Coats area inaccessible to hand sprayer, using brush;
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent;
• May use wire brush or steel wool to remove rust from metal;

• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations;
• Measure, examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifitions, using precision instruments, such as micrometers;
• Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustment or repairs;
• Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects;
• Dispose of scrap or waste and related materials for reuse, recycling or disposal
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stick or display placement of cuts;
• Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability;
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages;
