Position Title Line Assistant
Bargaining Unit USW Local 9042
Classification – Production Support
Reports to Production Supervisor
Job Purpose To assist the Operator on complicated extrusion processes including Sheet lines.

Key Accountabilities (based on the Job Purpose)

• Compliance to all company rules
• Responsible for the safe operation of each piece of equipment upon completion of training
• Follow the Quality Plan and all related work instructions to verify product Quality
• Completion of all documentation as it relates to quality, output and waste.
• Assist the Operator with cleaning during setup and teardown of each production order.

• Monitor windup process including quality checks and documentation
• Must always keep work area clean and safe.
• Assist with movement of raw materials and finished goods.

Qualifications
Education, Experience & Specialized Knowledge
• High School diploma preferred
Certifications, Designations & Licenses
• N/A
Skills
• Good communication Skills with Supervisor and Lead Hands
• Good organizational skills to monitor winder and track roll numbers for retrieval
• Requires good physical ability due to fast paced environment.
• Requires good colour perception skills for colour analysis.
Physical Effort & Environmental Conditions
• Fast paced manufacturing environment
• PPE is required due to 90 decibel noise levels
• Safety Glasses, shoes and uniforms must be worn
• Repetitive moderate lifting of materials to and from the production line
Work Hours & Travel
• Either 8 x 40 hr week or 12 x 48 hour week shift models to be assisted by the company.
• No travel expected
