Front Line Work Force Inc. is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a 1:1 support role in a summer day program in Bowmanville.
The successful candidate will provide direct personal support to an individual with autism and intellectual disabilities, including assistance with mobility and personal care. The role involves working closely with the client in a supportive and safe environment while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.
• Assist with personal hygiene including grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Provide bathroom assistance as required
• Support the client in maintaining comfort and dignity
• Assist with mobility and wheelchair support
• Help with transfers and movement throughout the program setting
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Encourage participation in activities and promote independence
• Assist with routine tasks and daily program participation
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition or behaviour
• Maintain clear documentation as required
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and care teams
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks if required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Preferred qualifications include:
• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate
• Experience supporting individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, patience, and professionalism
This role may involve:
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility
• Regular interaction with clients requiring personal care
