Work Environment: Residential Group Homes, Community Living Programs, Supportive Housing & Developmental Services

Shifts available Sunday through Saturday:

  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon shifts
  • Overnight shifts
  • Weekends required

Schedules and hours of work are assigned in accordance with operational requirements and applicable Ontario Employment Standards legislation.

Pay

$36.00- $38.00 per hour + , varies client

Position Overview

Front Line Health Care is currently seeking compassionate, professional, and reliable Registered Nurses (RN) to support individuals living in group homes and community-based residential settings.

This role focuses on supporting adults with:

  • Developmental disabilities
  • Mental health challenges
  • Behavioural support needs
  • Complex medical requirements

The Registered Nurse will provide clinical care, medication administration, assessments, crisis support, and nursing oversight while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Nursing & Clinical Care

  • Provide nursing care and clinical support within residential group home settings
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
  • Complete health assessments and monitor residents’ conditions

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate progress notes, medication administration records (MARs), and care documentation
  • Document incidents and communicate concerns to physicians, supervisors, and family members as required

Resident Support

  • Support residents with activities of daily living when required
  • Promote resident independence, dignity, and inclusion
  • Ensure residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioural needs are supported appropriately

Crisis & Behavioural Support

  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and behavioural crisis situations
  • Utilize behavioural support and de-escalation strategies when required

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with DSWs, PSWs, CYWs, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to care staff when necessary

Health & Safety / IPAC

  • Follow all Ministry guidelines, company policies, and infection prevention and control (IPAC) procedures
  • Ensure safe medication practices and resident safety standards are maintained

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in developmental services, mental health, group homes, or community settings
  • Strong understanding of behavioural support and crisis intervention strategies
  • CPI, SMG, or related crisis prevention training (asset)

  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to respond effectively in fast-paced or changing situations

  • Residential and community-based environments
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents as required
  • Exposure to behavioural and crisis situations
  • Flexible scheduling including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
