Job Overview

Position: Personal Support Worker for 1 to 1 position
Rate of Pay: $18.00/- PSW
Position Status: 2 week - July 14-18 and Aug 18-22 from 9am – 1pm
Hours of Work: Shift work required, Irregular hours per week
Holidays; flexibility required) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fri
Pay Period: Saturday to Sunday
Estimated Term of the Assignment: Ongoing unless otherwise stated
Scope of the job:
Someone with a background in autism/intellectual disabilities
Assist client with personal care in a summer day program (bathroom aid)
Core Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assisting with tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Meal Preparation: Planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals based on dietary needs and preferences.
Medication Reminders: Ensuring timely medication intake as per the prescribed schedule.
Mobility Assistance: Helping with walking, transfers (e.g., from bed to chair), and other mobility needs.
Light Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe environment through tasks like laundry, dishes, and tidying up.
Emotional Support: Providing companionship, engaging in meaningful conversations, and offering emotional support to reduce isolation.
Monitoring and Reporting: Observing the client's condition, documenting care provided, and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Promoting Independence: Encouraging clients to participate in their care and maintain their independence as much as possible.
Things to remember:
· Supportive one on one in a wheelchair
· Some personal care where needed
· All other duties as assigned by supervisor
