Position Overview

Front Line Work Force Inc. is currently seeking Developmental Support Workers (DSW) or Social Service Workers (SSW) to support individuals living in group home environments.

This role contributes to the delivery of supports and programs that are consistent with individual life plans, helping individuals enhance their ability to function independently within the community.

Staff will support individuals by implementing life skills programs, assisting with daily living activities, and providing emotional, behavioural, and physical support in a safe and respectful environment.

 


Key Responsibilities

Client Support

• Carry out regularly assigned duties related to the provision of services and supports
• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care
• Provide emotional support and encourage independence

Life Skills & Program Support

• Participate in life planning sessions
• Implement individualized life skills programs
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and outcomes

Health & Safety

• Provide personal and physical care including medication administration
• Respond appropriately during behavioural or crisis situations
• Maintain a safe and supportive living environment

Communication & Documentation

• Monitor and assess day-to-day needs of individuals supported
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Liaise with family members and support networks as required

 


Experience

• Minimum 6 months experience working in developmental services, social services, or a related field

 


Required Qualifications

Candidates must have the following valid certifications at the time of application:

• DSW or SSW Certificate
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check (valid within the last year)
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• CPI – Crisis Prevention and Intervention or SMG – Safe Management Certificate
• Up-to-date immunizations including TB test
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination including booster (minimum 3 doses)
