Personal Support Worker – PSW $18 plus $3 wage enhancement

Position: PSW

Major Intersection:  Finch and Bathurst

Retirement Residence

Rate of Pay:  $18 plus $3 wage enhancement

Hours of Work: Day, Afternoon and Evening Shifts (7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm, 11pm – 7am)

Pay Period: Sunday to Saturday paid weekly

Job Description:

Participates in continuous quality improvement program (CQI)

Attends in-service education in order to keep informed of current trends in resident care practices

Participates in orientation program

Resident Care:

• Observing and reporting changes in the residents’ physical and emotional condition
• Delivers personal care in a manner that promotes comfort and safety for the resident during activities of daily living in accordance with the standards of resident care 
• Provides cognitive, social and emotional support
• Promotes independence of resident in his/her daily activities
• Assists the resident with use and care of adaptive/prosthetic devices
• Communicates well with staff and resident – both written and verbal
• Helps with bathing, meals, feeding if needed, cleaning, sanitizing technology used 

Skills and Requirements:

PSW Certificate

Criminal Police Background Check

Vaccinated with Booster up to date
