📍 Locations: Toronto, Peel Region, and surrounding areas
🏠 Work Environment: Residential homes and shelter programs supporting youth and adults experiencing mental health and behavioural challenges.

Job Type

Full-time • Part-time • Casual

Pay

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour

Schedule

Shifts available include:

• Day shifts
• Afternoon shifts
• Evening shifts
• Weekends and statutory holidays

Flexible availability is an asset.

 


About the Role

Front Line Work Force Inc. is seeking dedicated and compassionate Social Service Workers (SSW) to support individuals living in residential and community-based programs who are experiencing mental health, behavioural, and emotional challenges.

This role focuses on providing direct support, crisis intervention, and life skills development while promoting stability, independence, and community integration.

Our clients rely on trained professionals who can build supportive relationships, manage challenging behaviours, and create safe, structured environments for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Support

• Provide daily supervision and support to residents within residential environments
• Assist individuals with daily living tasks and personal development goals
• Encourage independence and positive coping strategies

Life Skills & Program Support

• Support life skills training including budgeting, hygiene, communication, and community engagement
• Assist residents with appointments, community programs, and social activities
• Support individualized care and recovery plans

Behavioural & Crisis Support

• Respond appropriately to behavioural or emotional challenges
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques when required
• Maintain a safe and structured environment for residents

Residential Support

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the residence
• Support daily household routines and ensure a safe living environment

Documentation & Communication

• Complete daily logs, incident reports, and behavioural documentation
• Maintain accurate records according to agency and Ministry standards
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and supervisors

 


Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma or related field
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention or similar behaviour management certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, behavioural issues, or homelessness is considered an asset.

 


Physical Requirements

This role may require:

• Standing or walking for extended periods
• Repetitive bending, twisting, and lifting
• Supervising residents throughout the facility
